Wendy Ann Bolduc
Wendy A. Bolduc, 53, daughter of Penny
Bolduc and the late Jerome Scott Bolduc of
Waterville, has passed away of aphasia.
She was surrounded by friends and family,
with a beautiful lakeside view at her
mother's home in Oakland, Maine. Wendy
was born on November 20, 1968. She
graduated from Waterville High School class
of 1987, and went on to earn a Masters
Degree in Educational Administration at the
University of Maine.
At the age of 28 she became the Assistant
Principal at Helen Thompson Elementary
school in Gardiner. Wendy had a passion
for children's education and along with that
passion came a vision. After moving to
Florida she turned her vision into a reality.
She named it Hand in Hand Academy, a
place for hands-on learning and education
with love. Starting with only a few students
in her living room, it grew into two full sized
buildings which included a day care and a
primary school each consisting of nearly
100 students. Her approach consisted of
theme-based exploration, hands-on
learning, and individualized milestones with
a focus on critical thinking, leadership,
communication, and creativity. She molded
hundreds of young minds through a fun, and
loving environment. Today, some of those
kids have grown into talented artists,
medical professionals and writers, each
carrying with them a love for learning, a
habit of asking questions and a well
nurtured imagination.
While she loved taking her tightly knit
community of teachers, students and
parents on field trips, she held another field
close to her heart. She was a fierce goalie
on the soccer field, attending the State
Championships with her Waterville High
School team. She also played in a New
Tampa Adult recreation league.
Yet another passion of Wendy's has always
been spreading joy each holiday season.
She would decorate and wrap each and
every gift with an extravagance that
Hallmark would envy. However her eyes
would illuminate when she was with either
one of her two granddaughters, her love for
her family was palpable. Wendy Bolduc
lived every moment to its fullest with care,
thought and kindness. She is survived by
her mother, Penny Bolduc, brother Jeffery
Bolduc, wife Lisa Bolduc, niece Laura
Bolduc, sons Joshua and Christopher Viles,
and granddaughters Hunter and Pandora
Viles. .
