Lowell E. Swett 1936 – 2025

Lowell (88) passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19,2025 surrounded by his wife and children.
Lowell was born in 1936 to Merle and Gladys Swett. He married the love of his life Annie in 1956. They spent 70 wonderful years together in Oakland where they raised their six children.
Lowell was active in the Oakland Sno-Goers. He and Annie loved spending their winters snowmobiling. They spent many of their retirement years traveling this country from coast to coast. Lowell loved spending time with family, spending summers down to camp and get togethers for holidays.
He had many professions throughout the years. Lowell co-owned Principato and Swett TV and Appliances Shop in Oakland with his brother-in-law Richard Principato. He worked for the Town of Oakland Police Department, and Oakland Public Works. After 31 years he retired from Maine Central Railroad, where he made many great friends.
Lowell is survived by his wife Annie. Three children David Swett, of Rome, Jane Pellerin, of Waterville and Dan Swett, Oakland. Six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law Maxine Principato.
Predeceased by two daughters Debra and Susan and his son Rodney and wife Julie of Clinton. His parents Merle and Gladys, Brothers Merle Swett of Waterville, and Howard Swett of Oakland; also, his brother-in-law Richard Principato of Oakland.
There is a Celebration of Life scheduled for March 23, 2025 at the Oakland Legion from 2pm – 6pm.
