Joseph Andre St. Germain, known affectionately as Joe, passed away after a brief illness on July 7, 2024, at the age of 62 in Augusta, Maine. He was born on April 4, 1962, in Waltham, Massachusetts, on his father's birthday.
Joe graduated from Waltham Vocational High School in 1980 and spent his career as an auto body specialist at Clay Chevrolet, where he was highly esteemed for his quality of work.
Joe was a man who cherished his family and the simple pleasures of life. His favorite place was the family camp, where he spent time building campfires, riding his 4-wheeler, swimming, and playing games with his nieces and nephews. In his younger days, Joe was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, taking great pride in working on and riding his Harley Davidson. Joe could fix anything and everything and was the family "go to guy" for repairs. He loved animals and they loved him. He made friends with a wild duck he named "Quack", and Quack returned to visit him each summer at the camp. He was a friendly, kind soul and could make friends with anyone. He was often the glue that held the family together. He enjoyed good jokes, MAD Magazines, and classic rock, especially The Kinks.
He is survived by his mother, Louise St. Germain; his siblings, Stephen St. Germain (wife Carla), Theresa Linstrom (husband Peter), Thomas St. Germain, Ellen Steen (husband Perry), and John St. Germain. Joe also leaves behind a cherished circle of nieces and nephews: Renee, Laura, Andrew, Sarah, Amy, Grace, Melissa, Rachel, JoAnna, Samantha, Logan (Lily), Maya, Rey (Rebecca), and Richard. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond St. Germain.
His family will hold a private celebration of Joe's life. Joe's legacy of warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
