Obituary

Joanne (Wrigley) Shaw June 7,1956--November 13, 2022 If you are reading this, you're too late. I've gone to see my Lord. I was the daughter of Gerald Wrigley and Priscillia (Foster) Wrigley. I was born with a heart condition that eventually caused my demise. The first nineteen years of my life I was in an out of the Children's Hospital in Boston. During that time, I was treated like any other kid. I helped with the gardens and our Welch pony named, Ginger, who was a nasty old mare. We had a very close family—even after my mother passed away. My father met a wonderful woman with four children. We were like the Brady Bunch! Growing up, I got married, and had two children, Derrick was born on June 23, 1982 and Christopher was born October 6, 1983. We enjoyed camping and doing bottle drives for sports and the Boy Scouts. Before I got married, I graduated from LPN school and before I was a CNA. Later in life I received an associates degree in nursing. It was a busy life. I worked 42 years as a nurse in different facilities. Yet at times nursing was difficult, but I enjoyed all of it. I'm leaving behind my children Derrick and Christopher, as well as the" rock" of my life John Cloutier, my grandkids, Colin and Jake, my brother Tim and his wife Laurie and my sister Donna. I am also leaving behind my step-sisters Stephanie Thibodeau and Desiree Marin and my step-brothers Rick and Luke Harris. I am predeceased by my younger sister Susan. May she rest in peace, my parents Gerald and Priscillia, and my step-mom, Blanche- who was pretty close to a mom, since I knew her longer than my real mom. Always make sure to say "thank you" when you can and be grateful for each day that you have. Keep a smile on your face, laughter in your heart, and remember God is always with you. And above all, keep love in your heart and forgive those that hurt you because this is how God wants life to be. There will be a graveside service at Lewis Cemetery on November 27, 2022 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. Arrangements are in the care of Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church Street, Oakland, where condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the website at www.lawrybrothers.com.
