James T McGlashing 1/21/53-1/19/24 James passed away suddenly on January 19th, 2024. He was born Jan 21, 1953 in Cambridge, MA to Walter and Dorothy McGlashing. James had a strong work ethic starting at a young age and started working for Russel Brothers Recycling at just 14. He went on to haul for various companies as a trucker for many years. Ultimately, James went into building, which he loved. He could build just about anything. He met and fell in love with his wife, Theresa, who he married Sept 9, 1978. Together they had 5 children. James and Theresa decided to leave the city life behind and moved to Maine to raise them. James enjoyed hanging out with his car buddies and working on his 1956 Chevy Bel-Air. He enjoyed telling stories from the past, and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. James was the BEST Grampa "Pa" and loved spending time with his grandchildren. James was predeceased by his parents, Walter McGlashing & Dorothy McGlashing of Cambridge, Ma (and later Belgrade ME), and his brother, Tommy McGlashing of Somerville, MA. He was survived by his wife, Theresa McGlashing of Mercer, ME. His five children, Jame McGlashing Jr, and his wife Olga, of Framingham, MA, Stacy McGlashing, and her partner Dave, of Wilmington, MA, Joseph McGlashing, and his wife Betsy of Oakland, ME, Elizabeth McGlashing of Somerville, MA, and Katie McGlashing, and her fiance Jason, of Skowhegan, ME. Nine grandchildren, Kalie, Isabella, Ella, Olivia, Aubree, Tyler, Wyatt, Madelyn, and Everly, and one great grandson, Khyree. Visiting hours will be held at Wheeler Funeral Home in Oakland, Friday January 26 from 6-8pm with a service Saturday, January 27 at 1pm. Burial will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Heart Association.
